Dance music is great for parties since it’s fast-paced, loud, rhythmic and has reached a new nigh in popularity. To create a great playlist for your next party follow these steps and get the party started.
1. Go find the Songs
While it may seem to be a daunting task to find the latest dance songs to put on your playlist, there are plenty of sources that make finding fun, danceable and party ready songs easy. Here are some of the best places to look for the latest dance songs for your playlist.
Definitely go and checkout the remixes for your favorite popstar! More likely than not, songs by pop artists such as Rihanna, Katy Perry and Usher will have their singles remixed by DJ’s and EDM acts. Usually there will be four to six remixes for a single so there are plenty of choices when looking for a good remix. Also since these are pop songs that are being remixed, your guests will most likely be familiar with these songs albeit not as a remix. The same goes for EDM songs.
3. Get the Edited Versions
Having a song extended version of song that goes for seven to nine minutes is just too long at a party. Keep the playlist fresh and moving by getting only the edited versions, which are usually three to four minutes in length. Your guests won’t get tired of hearing the same song go on and on.
4. Have a Consistent Style
Rather than being all over the place with a variety of styles, try keeping the genres on your playlist to two or three. If you want to have a relaxing mood fill your playlist with genres such as deep and progressive house, or if you want something more aggressive and energizing fill up your playlist with electro-house and dubstep songs. Keeping a consistent style will keep and set the mood for your party.
