This weekend, two of the world’s most well known DJs, dutch-house DJ Afrojack and trance DJ ATB, will be headlining two separate concerts in Chicago on Saturday the 17th. Afrojack’s concert will be at the Congress Theater staring at 8 pm, while ATB will be at the Aragon Ballroom starting at 7:30 pm. For fans of dance music, it will most definitely be a night full of energy, dancing, partying and excitement.
Even though both are very well-known they won’t be performing alone. Each DJ will also have several other guest DJs playing at their venues.
DJs supporting Afrojack during include electro-house DJs Rehab, Quintino, Shermanology and Dean Cohen. As for ATB, trance DJs Filo & Peri, Tristonal and Super8 & TAB will be supporting his set. So basically, one ticket gets you 4-5 DJs in a night!, and it’s sure to be one hell of a party since Afrojack’s and ATB’s concerts go until 2:30 am and 3:00 am respectively.
For those who are unfamiliar with each DJ, here is a brief summary of each DJs careers.
Afrojack within the last two or three years, has emerged as one of my most prominent electro-house DJs in the world scoring a number of hits on his own, winning a European Border Breaker Award in 2012, having several high-profile collaborations and a number of production credits. Remember Pitbull’s international no. 1 single “Give Me Everything”? (It was only the top ranked radio song of the year in 2011!) Afrojack is featured on and produced it.
Additionally, he co-produced several tracks on Pitbull’s upcoming album Global Warming, along with scoring several solo hits including “Take Over Control” and “Can’t Stop Me” feat. Shermanology. Currently he ranks #9 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs Poll.
ATB on the other hand, has been one of the well-known names in trance music since the late 90’s. He first burst onto the scene in ’99 with his single “9pm (Till I Come)”, which reached no. 1 in the U.K. and sold over 850,000 copies there in addition to reaching the top ten in Australia, Norway, Denmark and Ireland.
He has since released several hit songs including, “Don’t Stop!”, “Let U Go”, “Ecstasy”, “Killer” and “Renegade”. ATB continues to have a large presence in Europe especially in Poland, Hungary and his home country of Germany where he has had several top ten albums. Currently, he ranks #21 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs Poll.
So just pick your favorite DJ and go out and party on Saturday night into Sunday morning!
